DH works in a restaraunt and you would be surprised how many people do NOT tip on the original amount, but rather they tip on the amount after they have taken the discount off. It is frustrating for the waiters/waitresses who are paid way under min. wage.

When we are in a situation to tip and we have a coupon or discount, we tip on the original amount before the discount or coupon.

I always tip on the original amount too.
