Post all your ideas here: where to buy, shopping strategies, what to buy, how to care for them, etc.
Here's one from me:
The best time to shop Old Navy is Wednesday morning. At our store they do markdowns prior to opening on Wednesday (either Tues. after close or Wed. before opening). I have found great deals on tees for my kids as low as $.49 or $.97. Cheaper than rummage sale prices!

You can usually get a Price adjustment if your purchased the item 7 days prior to going on sale. Alot of places do this.

I just always keep my eyes open and if I find a good deal, I put it away until the kids need clothes. Especially boys sweat pants, since my boys love them and, well, they are boys, so they can be kinda hard on them. I am usually safe buying pretty much any size since my boys are 9, 8, 6.5, 3.5 & 2!!!

Do you know about the wear-out guarantees that Sears and Shopko have? If you save your receipt and the clothes wear out, you can bring it back to exchange for the same thing in the same size. It's especially nice if you plan on handing the clothes down to the next kid.

I knew Sears had that, but I did not know that Shopko did that too!

I shop the clearance racks at stores like Deb, Fashion Bug, JCPenney, Kohl's. Normally, at the end of the season they will clearance the clearance and you get an even better deal. I have gotten dress slacks and tops that were priced as high as $36-$49 for .97 before. I am happy to say that for my clothing, I probably only spend maybe $50-$75 a year..buying it this way. I also like the BOGO sales. I know Fashion Bug had a sale buy one get one for $1. I stocked up on a couple pairs of shoes.. it's like getting one free. One thing I won't skimp on though are jeans. I like name brand jeans..but alot of times, they are on clearance too.
Another rule I follow with clothes is I don't buy much that is less than 50% off. Once in a while, if the price is right, it can be 40% but not too often.

I arrange my kid's closets in order of size and keep getting rid of too small things once they grow out of it, so when I find a really good bargain I buy a few sizes and then just put them in the right order in the closet so they will be there ready to go when they grow into them. This year I found a fantastic sale on jeans for my dd so I bought two pairs size 5, two pairs size 6, and two pairs size 7. (one dark, one light for each size) and now we're set for years!

One quick, easy way to save money on kids clothing: stop overbuying!!! Saves gas money going to stores, saves time organizing and storing clothes, saves money spent on sales- a good deal on shoes is not a good deal if your child already has 10 pairs.
I have pared down and my kids still have way too much stuff. I wish I could go back in time and stop buying!

Never pay full price for clothes. Never turn away hand-me-downs, shop clearance, garage sales, consignment stores and Goodwill. Extra bonus if you shop at Goodwill on quarter day and if you find something nice but it's too big grab it, your kids will grow into it. Keep an organized clost so you don't end up with 5 blue shirts.
Stop and think do I really need this. Don't just buy it because it's a good deal.
