I think a lot of the gift ideas you will see posted for the holidays would be great for birthdays too. My neice is getting a quilt for her birthday and I do a lot of other handmade gifts throughout the year.

THe fleece blankets are nice. We have 15 of them LOL. My MIL is a sewing fanatic so for awhile, each of us got a blanket on birthdays, christmas, and for "just because".

I am thinking I might make beaded bracelets for my nieces with their names on them for their birthdays. That's a few months off yet though.

One of my favorite gifts to give is a personalized quote, scripture or message I type onto scrapbooking paper and choose a coordinating paper to matte it. I love to get my picture frames from Hobby Lobby (they always have 50% off). I got the idea from the beautiful framed scriptures at Mardel. Of course they were selling for lots of $$ and I thought I could do something similar. The person yo give it to can enjoy the message and if they choose they can take it out and use the beautiful frame for one of their favorite pics.
