Have you ever taken a loan / gift of money from your parents as an adult?
My college roommates, they were sisters, use to refer to it as needing to visit "The Bank of Pa." When they were hard up for money they would go to their dad usually.
I have used both my mother and father for money. Though not so much in the past 10 years but during my 20's, yes my parents helped me here and there.

Every now and again, I have had to borrow money from my parents.
Just like every now and again, M'ija borrows money from me.

My mil gave dh and I $10,000 as a gift a few years back. We have never borrowed money from any of our parents since we have been married. When I was single, I borrowed money from my mom every once in a while. I always paid her back.

We have never borrowed money from anyone. I would sell everything before I ever asked my mother for money! She's the kind of person that would never let me forget. But actually, we have always been better off than our families. My dh lets my SIL borrow money all the time. She's in medical school and he paid this semester's tuition for her and is paying her rent and bills these last few months b/c her dh lost his job and is good for nothing.

Not since we've been married, though my mom gave me money for college from her lump sum retirement payment, and my brother gave me a check for tuition my last semester as a Christmas gift. We are the only ones in my husband's family who haven't borrowed (and never paid back) money from his parents.

My parents have hinted for me to give them money which I've never done. I absolutely have never asked them for money.
dh has borrowed money from his parents several times. I would rather get a loan from a bank.

Since I have been an adult (for 22 years), I have never borrowed a penny from my parents. It would have to be a desperate situation before I would ever ask them and it would have to be a desperate situation before they ever gave it to me. A desperate situation would be dh losing his job, neither one of us being able to get a job, us losing our life's savings and now living under a bridge. A desperate situation would not be "Whoops, I was financially irresponsible and I need to borrow some money to fix my problem." I would be told "Tough -- you did it, you fix it."

Definitely! I have also lent/given money to my adult daughter. That's what parents are for (I don't mean to take advantage of). Heck to this day my mil ends every conversation by asking if we need any money!!

After having my daughter my father gave us $500. (My hubby was taking two weeks of work off and they knew that). Not sure if they knew it was vaccation pay or not. I opened a savings account with it.
Now borrowing, yes I borrowed $500 (just in case) for when I bought my house. I saved for a lot of expenses but I was still scared I didn't have enough money. The day after we signed our house, I gave the money back NEVER USED.
