No we bought our 2nd home. Not to say that the Tax credit didn't help. Our Buyers ended up with the tax credit and we had in return a very easy time selling a house
Less know but we qualified for another part of the stimulus. Rural financing. Our new mortgage is underwritten by the USDA. It worked well for us not having PMI on our new mortgage is huge, we could use our profits from our sell to pay off consumer debt.
All in all it helped even if we didn't get the 8K
