A little bit of everything...kids clothes, extra jackets, snowpants, mittens and hats for the kids to wear outside so they don't lose their good stuff. Flatwear and cooking utensils, I think my house has a voracious appetite for this stuff as fast as it disappears, anyone else have this trouble. Picture frames, baskets or containers that can be painted or refinished and used for gift baskets and stuff. And shirts for me, when I buy them used, I know they are still going to fit after I wash them.

I LOVE going to thrift stores! A lot like yard saling... you never know what you will find! I like browsing for children's books, magazines, classic books, infant clothes, items for my home, vintage things... just anything. Some of my favorite finds were Flinch game (all pieces included, for .25), cabbage patch kids and rose petal place books (mint condition, 1984 for .25 each!!!) I just love the thrill of not knowing what I will find! Great idea... I think I will go thrifting on Saturday now!

I went last night but didn't find anything! Except for stuff I didn't need. I did see one of those leap pads that you plug into the tv. So if anyone lives in the Seattle area let me know and I'll let you know what Goodwill I went to.

Oh you girls will love this -- I live on base and we have a place called the "Airman's Attic" for those that are E-5 and below (DH is E-4) to shop at for FREE!!! Everything there is donated from people on base and its just so awesome!! Its not just a tiny little room either, its a huge large scale thirft shop type place and they have furniture and everything. I LOVE it!! Its kept up really well from volunteers and there's always a line to get in that place! Its only open two days a week and it works out perfectly because DS is in preschool those days so I always go! Who could pass up free?? I went yesterday and got a huge dog bed for my Lab Hershey and it was probably $100 when the people bought it!! Its like new too. I love that I can un zip it and wash the cover. That's just the tip of the iceberg! I found a like new sewing maching there, Pampered Chef items, name brand clothes for my son, an almost brand new bike for my son, clothes for me & DH and books galore. I have a whole library on infant and toddlers and some great DK books on different countries. All FREE!!!! :D

Wow Kotasmomma03 that's fantastic! What a great concept and also keeps so much more out of the landfill sites. This reminds me of when I used to put things by the curb (good items, just not needed any more) and a sign that said "Free". I was amazed how quickly they were snapped up!

I am still trying to find a thrift store worth going to. I live in Evanston, Illinois if anyone out there knows of a good thrift store near me please let me know. I would love to find great deals on toddler clothes and a good suitcase.

I look for just about anything. But mostly jeans for the kids and work shirts for me. I work in a sawmill so my shirts get holes in them pretty fast and I refuse to pay full price for a shirt that I can only wear for a month tops.

I always look through the clothing for all of us and get great deals. I bought our dining room table there this summer, it's carved wood and really pretty. It's fun just looking around to see what's there. On Wednesdays, our Salvation Army store has clothing half off. I'm planning to make a trip very soon.
