It's a great time to hit the thrift stores, with people bringing their stuff in to claim a tax write-off before the end of the year. What do YOU shop for when you hit the thrift stores?

I look for NAME brands to stick on ebay for profit! Or stuff for myself or the kids, but I love to look for name brands. Its a great deal in the long run.

I don't really look for anything in particular. What ever jumps out at me. I usually find good clothing and that is about it. It seems like all the home accessories in our area thrift stores are trash.

I have a friend who lives in Houston and she always looks for kids toys and books. It never fails, she always finds what she is looking for for a fraction of the price. They have a wonderful goodwill store where she finds most of her toys.

Yoga pants or track pants for my super picky dd who refuses to wear blue jeans. Men's blue jeans for my 15yr old because he's growing faster than i can keep up with him and i refuse to buy him new jeans when he outgrows them in 3mths or less. Also the book addict in me cannot pass by the book section without browsing thru them all. I have gotten lamps, curtains and sports equipment and small furniture from our Goodwill.

I mostly look for clothes for the kids, clothes for myself, work clothes for dh, books for both kids but especially my ds since he is reading now and going through all the books he owns! I love to look for home decor and similar items. Also, same as Missystuy said brand names to sell on ebay. We have 3 or 4 goodwills in our area but the one closest to our home is where i find the best bargains.

When I need to cover my windows I looked for shears and hit the jackpot several time. I was able to cover 4 large windows in perfect off white shears for about $100.00. That included the rods and hooks, which I bought new using my saved points/cash from a major housewares store.
I am pretty good at sewing, but I couldn't have made them for this amount of money, nor do I have the time!

I look for name brand clothes for the kids as well as big ticket toys that I wouldn't think of buying at full price and sometimes I look for clothes for me, but not often ( I feel guilty buying things for myself).
