I belong to a coupon train. I have also contacted companies and let them know I like a product and received coupons I wanted in the mail. I don't do that often, but awhile back a lot of us on here did try it.
For me, I save the money after a shopping trip in a jar in my pantry. So if I shopped at Babies R Us and used a $2 diaper coupon, the $2 goes in the jar. If we use a coupon at JCPenneys, and saved $20, that goes in the jar too. ALL YEAR. Then I use the savings toward a vacation or Christmas. IF, for some reason I don't have the cash in my pocket when I get home, I put the receipt on my bulletin board, and pay myself when I do. I enjoy seeing how much I can save year to year, and it is helpful when we decide to go away during fall break, or to begin my Xmas shopping.
