It has been rough going for the last few years. We had major medical bills then the family crisis that caused the little one to come to live with us. When we made the decision to take custody of her, we knew that our expenses would exceed our income for a little while. I wanted to be a SAHM for her and she definately needed that. Our lifestyle changed completely when she came into the picture and we weren't entirely prepared for her arrival. We knew we'd be liquidating savings and investments to stay afloat until she was in school fulltime and we got through the adoption. But that's okay with us. She is worth it and I still hold out hope that we will financially recover.

But I'm not waiting for any huge windfall to come our way. I know that financial recovery will be a slow, gruelling process. We've already started. At least the bleeding has stopped - for the most part. Until the next lawyer's bill arrives, that is.

Ok, I am very frugal, cheap sometimes even. That is part of who I am. BUT do i dream about getting a huge inheritance? YES! Dh's grandfather is a very wealthy farmer (at least by my standards). I have dreams that we will pay off our house much sooner than we ever dreamed and then able to snowball our income to save for retirement and kids stuff.......But dh's grandfather's father lived to over 100yrs old......
