I saw on Good Morning America this morning that the average American has $9100 in credit card debt.

Is one of your goals resolutions this year to get rid of credit card debt?

We don't have any credit card debt. If we use a CC for a purchase, we pay it off in full within the billing period. Thankfully we've never had credit card debt. I actually would have thought that the average amt of credit card debt to be much higher.

Ours is higher than that! We are trying to pay it all off. An endless battle. All our tax money will go toward it this year which will knock it in half.

I have about 3500 in CC and dh has 1200 we will have it paid off by the end of 2007. No ifs ands or buts! I'm getting this done and that way I won't be so stressed out. Then no more using CC except for emergency such as car breaking down, hospital, etc. They won't even be allowed out of the house!

I have credit card debt, but I keep it at a managable level (for us) I don't expect it will be paid off by the end of the year, but it won't be any bigger either.

I HATE debt! I use my credit cards for everything but pay them off every month. My former DH I know has over $10,000 in debt that he's racked up in just the last 2 years so I guess those of us w/o debt balance out those who have a lot to make the average come out to over $9000. I honestly would not be able to sleep or eat if I had that much credit card debt.

Close to 10 years ago (when I was pregnant) I found out that I did have that much in credit card debt because my DH had been racking it up and hiding it from me. I did everything I possibly could to pay that debt off completely in less than 2 years when our income was only about $40,000.
