Yep. They and Discover are notorious for doing this.
By the way, I learned something a few years ago. When you're put on hold for a long time, they are often expecting you to hang up and give up. I worked for a major company, and when a vendor would call, they buyer would put them on eternal hold, rather than be polite. It got me to thinking, so I started asking around and checking. Yep, it is a real practice, even in the customer service arena. Report it if it happens a lot with a company and see what happens. If this is a habit, tell the person you expect them to come back on the line within three minutes.
