I am planning to begin a price book. I saved all of my reciepts from last month and saved all the previous reciepts that I found. I am going to do what was suggested in "Miserly Moms" and only buy items that are below the "rock bottom" price. I found that I do this a lot naturally. I also tried couponing and can't keep up with it all so I thought that I could A) get a list of prices of things I buy
B) find the "rock bottom"price of those items
C) create a monthly menu based on the foods we eat each month
D) clip coupons based on how much I could save from the "rock bottom" proces. For example, I bought some Suave shampoo and conditioner at Kroger for 89cents and had a 50cents coupon so it was free. If I look in my price book, I would see that Suave goes on sale for 89cents sometimes and save the Suave coupon. I also buy the CHEAPEST brand possible on EVERYTHING I buy. That includes the money I save on coupons. I would love to check out "couponing 101"

I know acme has 10 for 10 sale every week and I do load up when they have them. *But it seems like we really don't get alot of sales or alot of coupons. *Where do you load up on the coupons. *I have my mom and aunt save them for me.
just because there is a sale 3 for $3 doesn't mean that you can only use one coupon. *You can use a coupon for every item that you buy because each item is a purchase! *Read the coupons carefully and compare sales, normally you don't have to buy 3 unless you get the deal buy using a store coupon. *And remember you can pair the store coupons and manufacturers coupons! *Also pay attention to rebates. *Walgreens normally offers 3 free things a month with a mail in rebate.
Very interesting!! Never thought about it that way. I always thought coupons were those things that I just don't have time to sort through and I hardly use them. I do love the save $1 on 3 boxes of cereal. Hehe, I think I use those the most.

Coffee girl, I think (if I remember right) that you live in Indiana - which county lets you double up to $1 That intrigues me!!

It is Porter county. I live in Lake. I only have that one local chain that doubles.

I read on a couponing website, Meijer does. Mine doesn't. And Jewel doesn't. And no one triples...But I'm trying to save all I can, it goes in a big jar for Xmas or vacations!
