We used to use Toys R Us Visa because you earned 1% and 4% for a purchase at TRU,BRU but since the reward was TRU gift card and the kids are getting older and we have 800 million toys...we decided to switch to Discover where we can get CASH back!
I also have a Kroger credit card which I only use for groceries and Kroger gas and then I earn $$$ to use at Kroger about $120/year and I would be shopping there anyway regardless of how I paid so the rewards are nice.

I have several but I use my discover mostly. We have built up tons of rewards there and you can earn gift cards which some of them double or at least add to the value. I got a bunch of $25 gift cards (cost to me $20 of credit I'd built up) for my nephews for christmas, and I got my sil a $40 crabtree & evelyn giftcard for her bday (cost to me $20) recently, so it saved me a bunch of money. Also, I sent my older brother a Mrs. Fields thank you tin full of cookies (he's single) for fixing our computer, and I was able to buy the $40 gift card for $20 that I then used to send the gift. So lots of times I can give a nice gift "free"..at least sort of.

I use american express rewards...you collect points and can get gifts cards to your favorite stores which I do all the time...not to mention - it gets paid off every month - so I never have a balance carried over!

I use Discover and Kroger too! I love Discover because I get the $25 gift cards to Red Lobster, Hardware store, Hollywood video, etc. It is our 'fun' $$. There are a few places that don't take Discover but not very many that don't any more. I use my Kroger for groceries and gas and they give you great checks to take for free groceries - can't beat that!! Last year when I had several thousand $$ in medical bills, I put a few hundred on each card every month to pay the bill so that I could get the rewards! I also have regular monthly bills like cable, newspaper, etc. charged to my credit cards to earn more rewards.

A reminder too that 'reward' cards aren't necessarily very helpful unless you are paying off the bill every month!

We use PC rewards from President's Choice Financial. We get 1% back on all purchases in free groceries and bonus points on lots of grocery items. We also get lots of bonus points for re-newing our home insurance, and car insurance with them every year as well as for lots of other things. In total, since 1999, we've had over $700 in free groceries.

There other cards I've seen that do cash back which is great too but it's a percentage, ie .25% on the first $500, .5% on the next $500, and 1% on anything over $1000. I like this one because it is 1%+ on everything.

I have been using only my (2) mastercards that award you 5% back on groceries and gas, and 1% back on all other purchases. I have 2 of these because they only give you back a maximum of $300 annually. For the last couple of years, instead of getting the gift cards they offer, we get the cash back adn invest the "free" money in the stock market. At least now I have a small portfolio thanks to my credit cards!

We use American express also. I like that it has to be paid off at the end of each month. That helps keep spending under control. I use the points for travel. My kids and I go once a year to WV free.
