We always use a CPA to do ours,and have to because of DH's growing business.

I have always done my own taxes but this year I am taking them to get done. This is the first year dh and I are married, he just got out of the army, he's and independent contractor now, and etc. I am just too nervous about it this year and its worth it to me to have it done and skip the stress. Maybe after this year I'll resume the job myself.

We have our accountant do them. There is a lot involved with dh having his own business and depreciating certain equipment, it would be way over my head and I like the idea of having our accountant go with us if there was ever a question later.

I do ours. I work for a CPA so if I have questions I feel confident I'll get the right answer.

I do ours...I'm finishing up school to become an accountant...I don't ever remember having someone do mine...

When DH has his own business...I had his accountant do the business taxes and I did all the personal taxes...but I always did the business ones on my own before we handed everything over...I was always right on with their accountant just didn't have the security of a CPA's signature...he was the one who talked me into getting my license!!

Now I'm going to have every tax accountant yelling at me...

If your taxes are somewhat simple...W2's, mortgage, dependants, IRA's, etc...nothing out of the ordinary such as selling a business, owning a business, moving across states...you CAN do them yourself. Go to your local store (Staples, Office Max, etc.) and buy the Turbo Tax, or Taxcut (the one I prefer) and save the $100's of dollars!! It's $30 to buy the program and you have the option of having H&R Block stand behind your return. I know I'm completely defeating my purpose of becoming an accountant by telling everyone this...but this is a FRUGAL website...I think I can pass on the savings.

H & R Block!!! They have done ours for about 20 years and it has always been good. I would NEVER do them myself!!

I always do them. I actually like the challenge and get a bit of a rush when I'm all finished.
