I am. I did them last year and the year before that a family member did them...She got us back (legally) WAY more than H&R Block ever did. She taught me about all the deduction you could have what you can claim and what you can't I walked away with more knowledge than I got in 3 years filing with H & R.

Dh and I do them together. Sometimes they're tricky due to Dh's work but his company offers free tax help, which is nice if you need it.

Me! :D

It's hard enough to pay all those taxes without having to pay someone else to figure it all out. I use a computer program but we're able to use it for free because our income is low.

I actually use DH's last pay stub and go to the IRS web site and figure our taxes on paper the first week of January. Then when we get DH's w-2 in the mail I go to the IRS web site again and e-file for free thru one of their links that we qualify for. I filed yesterday, the IRS accpeted our filing lastnight and we should have our refund deposited in 8 - 10 days. Yeahhh :rah rah: :yay!: :high five:

When I was married my DH always wanted to do it but we had fights every year because he would wait until the last minute to do them and I wanted them done early since we usually were getting $$ back. He also did them WRONG most years. Sometimes I was able to catch the mistakes and sometimes not so we ended up paying fines and penalties on the mistakes. The last year we filed jointly we were separated - he did them twice and wrong so I just did them myself. I've done my own the last couple of years. I usually do them on paper first and then do the computer thing to make sure everything is correct.

It is looking like it will be H&R block, for the third year in a row.

My hubby and I go over everything together, but since he does most the work on it I put him.

I have always prepared ours. It used to be with pen and paper, but we've switched to TurboTax for the last few years.
