We actually don't have anything. I would prefer to put our money into a savings, where we know for a fact that we would get it all back. I know many people who paid into life insurance and dropped it (or even were dropped cause of age or certain stipulations that were not disclosed entirely!) because the premiums got too high and they have nothing to show for all the money they paid into it!
Right now we are only 2 years away (hopefully less!) from paying off our home and saving for a new home. If something terrible was to happen I know that I could easily pay it off and just have to worry about cover the taxes. I hate to sound morbid but me and my dh have talked about this for a couple of years now. 2 Years ago my dh lost his bf (and my good friend)- he was in a car accident. I became bf with his wife before this had happened and they did not have any life insurance or even on the mortgage. She is okay though- she has enough in death benefits to cover her mortgage and living expenses (which is not always true in most cases!).
