Perhaps he'd listen to an objective, professional 3rd party -- a financial counselor. This is basically someone who is an accountant but also good at helping people set financial goals, make a budget, prioritize, and help your husband understand the ramifications of long-term credit card debt. I imagine if you call an accounting firm, you would find someone to fit the bill. You could set up an appointment, and GO TOGETHER!!!
Let him know how important this is to you, how important he is to you, and how important your marriage is to you. Let him know that you want him to have nice things, but that for your sake, you two need to get the advice of a professional so you are not constantly worried.
