Dh loves to buy things. After years of being together he now will do research and budget and buy cheaper. He has many hobbies. He will now make bullets instead of buying cheaper, but, we had to buy the stuff to make them with. He needs new boots, so he has them special made around 400 dollars, they will last him about 4or 5 years. He can only wear the wool shirts from New Zealand. The good thing is we can now budget for these things and pay for them without charging. His hunting trips out west. He now will camp more and cook his own food, so saves some money there and he still gets to go. He still will buy a gun at a gun show and wipe out his fun money. I just try to give him only cash for gas, But all this budgeting leaves little left for me. I did get a new coat this year, I was wearing dh. I turned my change jar and had enough for one. He will not give anything up compromise but he is going to spend it all If I let him.

My dh isn't too bad anymore really. He smokes and buys beer, but he doesn't shop so that and deer season are his big expenses. Occsionally he'll do something stupid and spend a bunch of money, but not too often.

The big expense is that since he travels for work they eat out the entire time they are gone, usually a week to 2 weeks. But he can't help that, he has to eat!

Nothing...DH is 110% on board with everything I do to save money. He will even use coupons if I need him to run to the store (And he NOW sticks to the list!). If the guys at work go our for lunch or something he will usually get something cheap (if he didn't bring his lunch), and he tells me what he spent on it when he gets home.

The kids are still little but they get it.....If they want something they always begin with "Do you have enough money for_______?" So they are learning that things cost money, and if facedwith having to buy it themselves with their money, if they want ot bad enough they will wait for it to go on sale, or they may scratch the item all together (they like saving their money!)
