I try to pay mine online and I used to mail the rest from work.
Now I will only put them in my mail box if I can sort of keep an eye on it....if I am home all day.

We pay 99.9% of our bills on line - but if we do have something to mail we put it in the mailbox about 1/2 the time. I often have a package to mail so I take it to the post office - or send it w/dh to put in one of the mail slots at work.

i honestly never thought anyone would be that stupid but i guess i should have thought more about it. we pay most of our bills online so we usually only mail off like 2 or 3 bills.

I would never put any kind check in my mailbox...I was a probation officer for several years and had many cases of people having mail stolen from their mailbox!

Wow! Theives are so devious- I can't believe how easy it is to cash a stolen check. We pay all our bills online- even those that don't do automatic payment our bank takes care of for us. That way i don't have to worry about late payments, etc, and the bank is responsible for any lost/stolen items.

i hope your parents money was all recovered and that this never happens again!!

I know in our area there was a real problem with this for a while. I usually send my mail out in the morning at work. That way its not sitting in the mailbox.

I am newbie here and I want to post this - I am not sure if you have heard about this, but I learn something from the mortgage office and suggest my husband and I to sign up with OptOutPrescreen that will allows you to take your name off mailing lists for credit card companies. Also that will help to increase your credit scores from 3 to 10 points in 3 to 5 business days - www.optoutprescreen.com - be aware you also will need to mail out the form with your signature so they will permanent remove your name off the mailing list forever. But you can always mail the complain letters to FCC if you continue to get the credit card offers after you sign up with OptOutPrescreen.
I also sign up with National Do Not Call Registry and not want to receive any unwanted calls: https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

I hope this will help you and other mothers too.
