Ok, I looked at baby coupons on Ebay. Someone has 3/$5 off formula checks. The high bidder is so far willing to pay $12.86. So let's say this auction ends, and she pays a total of $13.50. Still less than face value of those checks, but she just paid $13.50 to get $5 off each can? What am I not getting??? Another auction has wipe coupons, 2 coupons for FREE, up to 8.99 per box, on the wipes. The bid is currently over $19. So someone is paying basically for the box of wipes right now! But will get this coupon in the mail, but it already cost her the price of just buying the wipes.

So, why, why, why, is this good? Help me ladies, I am horrible at math, is that it???

I have both bought and sold formula coupons on ebay. It always amazed me how much people would pay for formula coupons. I had one person from NY who pretty much always won my auctions - she was in NYC I think. I don't know why people pay so much; maybe because formula prices vary from state to state and in places like NY, it actually makes sense to pay close to the face value of the coupon.

I really don't know. But I know that I would never buy coupons if the buying them cost more (or even 50%) of the savings that I would be getting from the coupon.

I bought coupons that were BOGO formula off ebay from Walgreens, winn dixie and albertsons. I paid sometimes 2 or 3 dollars a coupon. That was a great savings to me. I even shared me secret with my moms group and I think we were probably bidding against one another.

I've sold my formula coupons in the past and you're absolutely right! People pay dang near the exact amount if not over sometimes to win.

They also do this on gift cards and gift certificates! It's amazing!
