it works trust me... i have to soak Braes diapers in the machine over night with COLD water and vinager to get the urine smell outta the diapers.... I let them soak over night then add my soap and run the machine... also it helps keep the diapers to last longer... YOU NEVER USE BLEACH on them...

I use vinegar as a fabric softner all the time and now that I think about it my clothes never smell when I forget them in the wash machine.
