If I were to transfer the balance from one credit card to another, because one is offering a zero % interest rate for 6 mos; does my payment go to the transferred balance or the balance I have on it in the first place? I am trying to figure out if it is worth it, and if I can have it ALL paid by then as we are trying to get rid of the credit card debt. Thanks!

You'll have to ask the credit card company as each has their own policy. Sometimes they do a percentage of all the debt. Some companies pay off the lowest interest rate portion first - making pay on the higher interest rate portion longer.

This got me to thinking....Does anyone know if you keep transfering your credit cards to new ones that offer 0% interest, if this is bad for your credit score? I had heard this before, but wasn't sure if it were true.

It looks bad if you keep transferring. Doing it once when a nice offer comes along won't hurt you.

Some of the low/zero interest cards have a catch in fine print-if you are late on this bill or any others they can jack your rate up, sometimes over 20%.
