Do you buy or lease your vehicles? My dh leased a truck once, and ended up buying it when the lease was up, so other than that we always buy our vehicles. The reason he leased that truck was b/c he doesn't put that many miles on it since he always has a 'beater' truck to drive to work and all winter long(b/c of the road salt) And he mostly uses the good truck to pull the gooseneck trailer to tractor pulls and such.

One of the Mom's at my ds's school was driving her dh's truck the other day instead of her mini van and I asked her why she was driving it(thinking maybe her van was broke down) and she said because she only had a certain # of miles she could drive the minivan and it was getting close to that and she still had 7 months left on her lease!! I certainly don't have an issue with leasing, but IMO if you're going to be worrying about how many miles you can drive the vehicle then why not just buy a car and drive it all you want???

What works for you and your family???

We have leased our last two vans. We prefer leasing because it brough the monthly payments down and because i prefer having a newer car every couple of years. I do not put many miles on my cars however having to drive the freeways of California i prefer to have a newer car that i might not have to worry about breaking down as much.
It has worked for us.

We always buy ours because we buy used. My husband and I both commute over 60 miles a day each, so we would probably go over on our miles if we leased.

We always buy. Dh has always bought used and I have always bought new. Until this past year and dh got a new truck and I got a used SUV.

We put a lot of miles on our vehicles and don't trade them in often. We will drive these until the wheels fall off. So it wouldn't be a good investment for us to lease them. We just bought the truck in Aug or Sept and already have over 20,000 miles on it and dh doesn't even have a long commute like I do!

We used to lease and while it was nice having a new car every 2-3 yrs, the miles were becoming an issue. The van we have now we bought new and it will be completly paid off in 3-4 months.

We definitely buy and we try to buy with cash. We've been married almost 7 years and have never had a car payment. It's just something we try to save for. Honestly, to me leasing is just renting. But that's just my opinion, and dh and I do keep our cars for about 10 years. So it makes sense for us to buy.

We buy used vehicles. In the past, I have kept vehicles for about 5 years or so.

We originally leased our van. We planned to return it when the lease was up. Well, hail damage and a deer within a week of each other and a very uncooperative insurance company (that we no longer have) changed our plans. So we ended up buying it. Now we have paid on it for 8 years!!!!!! It is a great van, but definitely not worth what we ended up paying!!!

We always buy. Can someone tell me the advantages of leasing? I've got to admit I never really looked into it so it would be nice to know.
