Do you donate to charities or help raise money??

We always help raise money and donate to March of Dimes. I've been especially involved since Nov. 2004 when my ds (#1) was born at 29 weeks.

We'll be walking in honor of Caden again this year

We donate to St. Jude's Hospital. I think they are an amazing hospital and so many good things can be done there. March of Dimes is also awesome.
I'm glad your little guy is now happy and healthy!

The last 2 years I've done a Walk for Diabetes - my MIL and SIL both have diabetes. I have sent donations to St. Jude's, WWF, The Vets -- small donations but I send what I can here and there -- especially St Judes because they always send a newsletter and pictures of the sweet little kids who need our help. I also donate to our Church every Sunday. Oh and last Sunday I donated to 2 of the teens at our Church who are doing a "Hunger Strike" starting tonight through tomorrow to raise awareness of hunger throughout the world. I thought that was good of them -- their Dad said he thinks they will save 2 gal of milk by their kids not eating/drinking anything but water for a day. LOL

I donate regularly to my faith and also have several other organizations I give to throughout the year. I'm not a fan of the 'gimicky' fundraisers but I guess if it helps raise awareness of the problems and raise money to fight them then it's all good. I stick with well-established organizations that I believe in - Red Cross, March of Dimes, PBS, etc. I also ALWAYS donate to organizations in lieu of sending flowers to funerals.

I donate in lots of diferent ways, with money and time and items. I donate clothes and that sort of stuff all the time. I also donate to various things at my church. I also donate my time. It's funny as I met someone the other day and she said "it's nice to put a name and face together. I see your name everywhere."
Org's that i donate to are: Food for the Poor, Red Cross, Lymphoma society, diabetes assoc, american heart association, united way(although, I don't like them-dh has money taken from his paycheck). I think thats it.

We donate to church as well...we haven't found a new church home yet tho, we moved in July, had a baby in September... But we really should find one soon.

We also donate to various organizations throughout the year - dh is helping someone at work w/a juvenile diabetes walk to raise money.

We tithe and donate to special projects through our church. We also donate to any kids we know who participate in Walk-A-Thons, etc. which usually means donations to March of Dimes, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, American Red Cross, etc. I just feel it is very important in encourage children to be giving and comassionate while they are young in hopes they continue that practice. We also do an annual project with our karate school that benefits a differet organization each year. Past recipients have included our local food pantry, animal shelter, Samaritan's Purse, and nursing home. We also have our children plan and conduct a charity project each year around the holidays for school (we homeschool). This year they collected donations and purchased gifts and food for a needy family of 8 in our county. Past projects included collecting canned goods for the food pantry, collecting eyeglasses for the Lions Club, and filling shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse. I also volunteer for several infant health advocacy programs in the county.

Of course, we donate items to agencies, the Goodwil and the Salvation Army as well. In the past, I have donated time to projects or agencies as time has allowed, i.e. ACSRelay for Life Sponsorship Chairperson. I'm always open for helping depending on my schedule (and health) at the time. We try to set a good example for the kids, and also find opportunities for them to help.

We regularly donate to church, a community educational foundation, and several different cancer causes.

We donate to the Canadian Cancer Society monthly, comes straight out of our account, we always donate to any 'a-thon' too, and always donate clothes/furnitures/books, other items to charity when I organize/purge.

I'd like to start donating to the Children's Wish Foundation too... so that's next on my list.
