We have the credit card (1% back on all purchases and an extra 5% back at some places) that we use for everything. We pay it off each month, otherwise it would't be worth it. We also have all of our customer cards attached. Since October, we have earned around $250.00. Most of this is from the credit card and our vacation purchases helped. We don't have a 529, but you can request a check by mail for your earnings (under $200 doesn't require a notorized signature). It could take a couple of months to get the check, but I think it is still worth it.

You can download remind from their site and it automatically signs you in if you go to a site that contributes. Iwas always forgetting too, but this has helped a lot.

Thanks gopher, I didn't know you could do that. Will def. use that now, since I can't count the number of times I could have saved extra by getting to the website through UPromise. Plus, it is a pain in the butt to remember just before I checkout and then have to sign into UPromise and then go back and either start over and finish my checkout.

I too always forget to check Upromise first, before buying anything on-line. I have missed out on so much money because of that. I just bought $50 worth of Bare Escentuals from QVC and never thought to check through Upromise! I will have to check out the reminder thing definately. THanks

I use it too. My account isn't very much, but I started it several years ago to help pay off student loans as I didn't have kids. I figure that if I can keep getting even $20/year in an account it should at least pay for books by the time dd is ready for college.

As far as I'm concerned, since I shop these places anyway and buy these products no matter what, I'll take any amount I can get! Every bit helps!

I would say its worth it, although don't count on it to fully pay for college.

I've signed both boys up. It hasn't added up to much yet. And, I notice that just this week I was charged a $20 fee. So it took $10 from each of the boys accounts. I think that's a yearly fee though. I just need to build it up.

I have never seen a yearly fee on mine. Did you sign up for one of the college accounts? Maybe there is a maintenance fee for that? I know that my kids' accounts and my 403B used to have a service fee on them until I reached a certain limit but that had nothing to do with Upromise.

As for QVC, I have shopped with them before and if I forget to go thru the Upromise site, it automatically goes to a screen saying that it is a upromise site. I think that is because I signed up for the reminder service.

So far I like it but since I signed up when it first started, there weren't any incentives to join. Nowadays, some companies contribute money to your account when you sign up. There should be a loyalty program for the people who first started with Upromise.
