If your children are old enough to stay home by themselves at night, you can always try an overnight job at a dept store a few nights a week. I started at Walmart on overnights, and I had the greatest job - shipping processor. I opened boxes of shipment (clothing), stripped plastic off everything, and hung it all according to dept. Then I rolled the racks out to the departments. I played music the whole time. It was great. (There was no one around so it was quiet too - this was a store that wasn't open 24/7.) I made good money too, because not many people can/want to work nights. I also got an employee's discount (my mom always came shopping with me. LOL)

I have to pay for my bags (.01 each) and rubber bands (.005)each. I only have to bag when there is a 20% chance of showers, and a lot of my customers have tubes out by their mailboxes, so I don't even have to rubberband those. Special sunday paper bags with advertisments on them are given to us. If you don't have any little ones at home, I'd highly recommend it. It's hard for me because, I have two kids and they don't like that I have to be in bed by 8:30-9:00 even on weekends.
Thanks I contacted our local paper yesterday and I had a message on my cell phone from them. I am going to contact them tomorrow morning and see what they have to say and what is available. I am excited by the opportunity and want to find out if the hours will work with my current FT job. Thanks so much!!!:yay!:

The paper job didn't pan out because of the time I would be able to pick up the papers from the main hub. I couldn't pick up the papers until between 4:30 & 5:00 am then I would have to deliver them. I have to be at work at my FT time job by 7:30 am.

I went on the route two nights to get a feel for it and to see if I could pick up papers, deliver papers, and get to work on time. The route would take about two hours start to finish on a good day. Unfortunately my current employer cannot flex my start time at my FT job. With only a half hour to play with I was afraid if the papers were delayed, car trouble, or ? it would cause me to be late for my FT job which is my only source of income so I cannot risk it.

I am still job seeking hoping to find a pt job by the end of this month.

I would give direct sales a try. I do that and I love it. No start up costs here either...

I also do part time daycare for one family which has been really nice in help paying the bills. Daycare you can make a ton but you may have to give up your sanity. LOL. I will only do one family as I don't want that many kids around me all day.
