I've never used Coin Star and now that I know they take a % of the money, I definately won't! L.OL! Our bank will sort it for you, so the few times we have done it, that's what we do. They're really nice about it, but I'm sure it depends on your bank.

I didn't know you could get a gift card for it. My dd always wanted to do it but I wouldn't let her b/c I knew they took a %. Now I know she can get a gift card, I'll let her next time

I use TCF too and when it prints the reciept, it has a fee on it, but when I take it up tothe person in the bank to get my money, she always crosses it out and never asks if I have an account, so I don't know if they check
