I've read a lot of them over the years but I have to say The Automatic Millionaire by David Bach was probably the most life changing for me.
Thanks for the recommendation! I just found it at the library yesterday.

This is a great topic. I have to be honest I've never read a finance book although I love watching Suze Orman when she's on tv and she has great advice. I'm gonna try to get to the library and pick up some of the books mentioned especially the one's for couples. My dh and I need to learn to deal with money better.

Hi There,
I have read some books by Dave Ramsey and Suze Orman, and also Mary Hunt. The one book that changed my life (financially) was The Tightwad Gazzette. Just good ole' penny pinchin' for me!

Wealth Without Risk by Charles Givens? This was my first book that got me hooked on personal finance. Some topics include how to pay off your mortgage early and save on interest, how to save on insurance, how to build up credit wisely etc...
I just have to say about the mortgage payment--I learned from him that if you look at your mortgage statements, you will see how much you pay on your principal and on your interest. Making extra payments on your principal will shorten your mortgage. Notice when you buy property or a car they have to disclose the total amount it will cost after making all the payments? On my $85,000 condo, I'd have paid a total of $125,936 after 15yrs. But I can shorten my mortgage by paying down my principal. And save thousands!
Sorry so long but I just had to share--this book is almost 17 yrs old and I've learned so much.
