I am recently widowed with two children. I am in desperate need of working from my home so I can be here for them. Any job suggestions or recommendations??

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know there are some ladies who do Medical Transcription from home. I'm looking in to this as well and many have used Career Step. i hope this helps.

I am currently taking an online medical transcription course through Career Step. The initial cost was somewhere around $1200 but I guess, depending on how fast you type, you can make between $30,000 and $40,000 a year. The course takes about a year to finish, (I'm about 5 months into it), and I've just started the actual transcription portion (it's incredibly hard to me, but that could be just me) otherwise I'm really enjoying it. Hope this helps.....and I'm very sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss too. I can't begin to imagine how difficult that would be.

Here are some resources within Mommysavers that may help:
Work at Home Resources Page
Also, be sure to do a search within the forums on work at home. You can probably get a lot of information from past threads.

Also, check out our Parenting Alone board. There are quite a few members coping as single parents who also may have valuable advice.
