Ok, I passed my work at home agent survey, and I have been requested to call in for an interview. I'm a little nervous because they request my social security number when I am through with the interview. I am aware this is for background check purposes, but it still makes me nervous! Can someone who is employed by waha please reassure me that it's ok to give this info out? Thanks!!

I assure you its fine. I worked for them a few years back... but then stopped to have two babies. And Ive been working with them again for a few months now. Everything is going great. Just a tip or two. When you call in for your interview.. its automated. And its going to spring some questions on you that you might not be expecting... so be prepared to answer questions about what sort of customer service exp. you have, to describe an instance when you were left unsupervised, and stuff like that. Try to be upbeat and positive. Dont do a lot of "uhs and ums" yanno? Good luck!

Thanks Ember! I appreciate the advice! Are they really as flexible as they claim to be? I plan to go home with the kids to visit my family this summer for a couple of weeks...will that interfere? I'm just looking for a very flexible way to supplement our income!

WAHA / West IS legit. Their training program is awesome but I find their agent interface, scheduling and call routing to be lacking.

Good luck!

I signed up and passed the survey too, but then sent them a long email telling them that the tone of the survey made me suspicious about what kind of company they are (all focused on theft & drug use?!) and that I wasn't comfortable giving my SSN to an automated interview in this age of identity theft. I said I felt I deserved a personal phone interview if they wanted such personal information. They gave me a response with a phone number to call and do a personal interview. So if you're still uncomfortable with it, you could write and ask for a personal one too - it's possible.

In the end I decided I didn't want to do the job after all, so I haven't ever called for the interview. But it was nice to have the option.

good luck!

That's a good idea about recieving the personal phone call. In this day and time you nver know who is getting this information.

After reading all of your post about working as a waha (work at home agent). I went to the website and did some research on the company because I have been looking for something like this. I felt that if some of these wonderful moms on this site have worked for them and say it is legit then it was worth looking into. I just wanted to post what I found out. I first took a good look at the workathomeagent.com site which to me looks pretty legit and gives you an awful lot of information to be a scam. I googled West Corporations which is the company that does the recruiting and contracting of the wahas. I found their website and in the about us link I found that they are headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. So then I went to the better business bureau website for Nebraska and searched for West Corporation and sure enough they are members of the BBB. They have a satisfactory record with the BBB. They have been in business since 1986 and have been BBB members since 1990. This made me feel so much better about proceding. I have already reqistered, passed my survey, and done my interview. So.. well see how it goes from here!!! Hoping this will be the answer to alot of prayer.

I have worked there for about two and half years now, nothing to worry about. They are great!
