I second that and also www.lastminutetravel.com. WE booked our tickets to Pensacola one year and saved over $250.

I also will add that I have had better luck each and every time with hotwire.com than any other web based flight fare search engine. Just my experience anyway

If you fly during T-Th it's much cheaper. All those budget websites are normally no longer cheaper than buying direct from the airline website. The airlines smartened up and now offer web fares special to their website. This isn't always true but normally, I've found especially if flying continental. Normally if you buy 2 weeks in advance and stay at least one week, you can get a good fare. I get fares from DC to Houston for $200 after taxes doing this.

YES!!!! I check both expedia and travelocity and pick dates are flexible. That is really the key!! We are flying to AZ in 2 weeks for $143/each from Newark, NJ! I guess I am lucky though b/c we are nearby 4 airports. Maybe it'd be worth it to travel a few hours to a hotel and stay nearby another/cheaper airport? I guess that really depends on how many are flying out and the savings obviously. We are a family of 5 so tix get expensive. Luckily we are staying w/family in AZ.

Also on another note, I joined the priority club for Holiday Inn since we stay there at least once a year. Well what I've done is book the rooms for all of our friends as well and I get the points for their rooms too! We are going to Vegas for 2 days on our trip and one of our nights hotel is free!!!
