Has anyone ever used Lendingtree.com to find a home loan? What was your experience with this?

I haven't used it, and I don't know anybody that has. I am anxious to read other people's responses to this. The ads make it seem too good to be true. I wonder if it is?

We used it. As first time home buyers, it was nice.
But, you can end up getting called by a bunch of different people wanting to talk to you about a loan. You can tell them that you aren't interested and they won't call back. I would say that is the downside of it.
We ended up getting a $100 gift card from or realtor because we went through them.
I know very little about home loans, so I can't tell you really if it is a great thing. It worked for us and we were happy with it.

We used it, we won't ever use them or any other online company again. We had a very bad experience. Lets just say everything was messed up for closing even though we had gone over things many times, the person we dealt with first completely lied about things and amounts and the person who handled it closer to closing had no clue what was going on, they messed up our escrows, and tried to over charge but I caught them.

All in all since we closed less than a week after my 3rd c-section and I forgot to take a pain pill the hours I spent at the title company getting it all sorted correctly were miserable!

Now I know that my experience is not everyones, I'm sure most people like them or they would be out of business by now, but watch out and be careful!

I wish we would have gone with the man we spoke to at Bank of America. I recommend going through BOA, if you can get approved with them. They have great rates and they are very helpful! PLUS since they have a reputation to keep they are service oriented!

Our credit wasn't so great when we bought our house 1 1/2 yrs ago and we had went through them and they got us approved when we could through the regular banks. We dealt with one lady the entire time and she was as sweet as can be.
So all in all we ended up with really good rates and everything went well for us.
