Are there any tax benefits - for me or the other parents - if you aren't running a formal daycare but only caring for one family's child?

There is a county program in my area that is called Child Care Choices all the providers are certified and receive referrals for people looking for daycare in their town. The providers have to attend the monthly meetings and provide a list of snacks & activities they are doing for the month.

Before you do this check out the day care licensing rules in your state. Some states do not require home day cares to register...others require you to register if you have more than 2-3 kids...and others like Michigan require you to be licensed to even take care of 1 unrelated child in your home on a regular basis.

I have considered doing daycare in my home, but I just know that it would never work with dh's schedule. I am the only one that can get the kids to school since dh is always already long gone by the time we need to leave. Plus I dont want to feel stuck at home, I do not want to haul kids around. I get freaked out thinking what if we went to the park and got in a accident!! I am however going to see if I cant find a few kids to babysit for New Year's Eve. Than I am hoping to turn it into a once a month thing, like the first Friday of every month, call it like Parent's Date Night. Just watch a few kids for a few hours one night a week for some extra money. I figure I can feed them cheap, than we can play, watch movies, color or play with play doh and than the parents come and pick them up.

What you any of you be willing to pay for a once a month date night??? Let's say something like 6-10. I would feed your child. All you would need to supply is diaper and wipes. So ages from newborn and up.

I watch my nephew not the idle sittuation because I am not making what I could if I wasn't watching family. My SIL is way behind on paying me anything because my BIL is out of work so I still watch him so BIL can go out looking for a job.

My way to find someone and I might if I don't have another child next year would be through my meetup groups I know tons of moms and every once in a while one goes back to work and needs child care.
