We've been needing a new bed for months now... the one we have is a no name from a mismatch warehouse that my grandfather bought for me 10 years ago because the waterbed my husband & I were given was wrecking havoc on my back. Well it has to clear ruts down each side where we sleep and is now killing DH's back.

Anyway we looked around at discount bedding places, and weren't really impressed with the selection or the 'savings'. We could have saved around $200 more than we've ended up paying but we would have had to take something we weren't totally happy with and had to save the money up for months while DH's back got worse and worse. Sooooo... we went to Badcock to see if I could still get credit now that my grandfather has passed (he cosigned for daughters bedroom set 3 years ago). Turns out I could, they tripled the amount I'm allowed (double what I needed), six months no interest which is perfect, will be paid off by the time summer is over when DH's business starts to die off. Bonus, the brand we wanted was on sale, $300 off the set.

So realistically its a perfect situation.. got the brand we wanted on sale, they deliver so no hassles finding a truck to borrow, no interest, perfect timing to pick up a six month long bill (well, as perfect as it ever can be). I'm just a little worried that we won't be able to save much for the slow winter, but I know we'll manage somehow.

Anyway just wanted to get that off my chest, I feel a little better now!

I had to do the same thing about 8 months ago. Now we have a great mattress and bed we love that we got on sale. We actually got a $900.00 bed for $375.00 when a local furniture store closed down. The matress was $1200.00, not on sale, but we got 1 year no interest and we've already paid that off. Plus a good mattress will last a long time.

ITA....my dh really has bad joints...he used to race motorcycles so you can imagine how banged up he got. But he won't finance a bed! So, congratulations on your purchase, and sleep well knowing you're taking better care of your spines!!

I agree! Beds are an important investment for your health. We spent about $800 a few years ago on a new king sized bed. After being married for 7 years and having a very, very old queen sized, it was so nice to not sink in and have to be so close to DH.

As long as you make sure you pay it off before the 6 mos is up it should be fine. But if you don't, they go back and charge you interest starting from the beginning, not just starting at 6 mos. So it's a really bad deal if you don't pay it off. HTH

Thanks guys. It will be so nice to not hear DH be in pain every morning! Unless catastrophe happens, it will be paid off with in the six months for sure. October - February are our tight months, so we will definitely have it paid for before then. It's $156 a month, we've already decided to pull $50/week from his tips to pay on it.

I have been trying to convince my husband to buy a new mattress set. We have a hand-me-down water bed from his parents that I hate. Besides that his mother refers to it as her bed even though I thought they GAVE it to us. My back hurts every morning. I'm sure it is well worth the investment!
