Do you have money budgeted as Fun money for frivolus spending? We don't because our budget is very tight. Not to say we don't ever buy something frivolus but I feel we can't afford to justify frivolus spending. I know some people even have seperate accounts for fun money. How does that work when one person has no income? Most of our frivolus spending is done by me. My guy rarely goes and buys anything other the gas for his truck. The way it works is I will occasionally buy him something or we will do an activity as a family or he will go out with the guys and thats all ok. So whats your system?

Well we when were really good about keeping our budget going we did budget in fun money. Dh usually spent his on hunting gear/cigs/beer lol
I would spend mine on a lot of different things. It was nice to have a little bit of money to do whatever I wanted with. Now any "fun" money is going towards things for the baby, but that is still fun.

It's important to have some fun. It sounds like you guys are using money for fun things when you can. A lot of our activities really didn't cost us anything. We live right down from the lake and do that and cookouts and riding our 4 wheeler a lot.

If we have extra spending money or I get a birthday check, I put it into a savings account linked to my paypal account. I consider that my "fun" money but it's a very, very, very small account so I don't spend too much!

I allocate a small amount to my self and double that amount to my fiance. I feel as he works so hard he does deserve to spend money on him self for silly things. Because I look after the budget and all of the money I am very strict about keeping to the budget so I dont mind him spending his "pocket Money" on what he wants.

Im the worse though - as I have a credit card and dont think twice to pull it out to spend money on silly stuff and have resorted to leaving most of the cash and the cards at home so Im not tempted in spending money we dont have.
