Hi! I'm new to this board and I have a question.

I want to change insurance companies. I currently have auto and home insurance through Liberty Mutual and have been very unhappy with them.(They don't return phone calls, they filed and paid a claim against us without even notifying us, etc.)

Can anyone recommend an insurance company that they are happy with and that has reasonable rates?

Thank you .

We use State Farm for both auto and home insurance and have been very happy with both. We've had the same agent for 17 years, so they know us well. I honestly don't know if we are getting the best price, but sometimes there is a lot to be said for customer service and having a good relationship with your agent. I know with State Farm, the longer you are with them, the lower the price goes.

We also use State Farm for our home, auto and life policies. We get a discount for having all of the policies through them.

We get excellent customer service, just like the commercial. My agent will bring paperwork to my house in the evening because it is hard for me to get to his office during business hours because I work farther away. If we looked we could probably find cheaper rates somewhere else but we won't budge because we know if something bad happened he'd really work to help us out.

We have used Pekin Insurance for 19 yrs and have been pleased completely. We use them for both auto and home owners insurance and pay low rates for high insurance. But, we have an agent locally and know them really well.

allstate and farmers are both good. i usually try progressive when i'm looking for rates, and then go from there.

good luck.

DH had state farm when we met and he loves it so much. I thought he was nuts for being so loyal to them bc my insurance on a newer car was so much cheaper. we now have two cars, personal property, life insurance and home owners through them. granted, we and our stuff are getting older, but we just got another $250 drop in premium. we got a $30 check from them last month as a "rebate".

the owner of the state farm comes to our home herself and sends correspondence over each holiday or for her life events. we feel like we know her.

DH wants to buy a car and we thought of her first for loan advice. I guess I am trying to say that they do establish good relationships. Oh, and from my MIL's experienceS, they have backed her up and taken car of everything EVERY time she has an accident. Hey, wait a second, maybe they are so nice to DH and I bc my MIL and FIL are paying such a huge premium.

We have our home owners through State Farm and we love them! We had a leak in the roof last year and they sent someone out the next day and we had a check in hand within 5 days to start the repairs.
Auto we use GMAC and they're okay,we had our mortgage through them and got a discount until we refinanced. I will be switching over to State Farm this year (I had accident points in NJ and they do not accept you for 3 years after the incident, so I had to go with someone lese.)In NJ i had a company called NJ manufacturers, which from what I understand you have to be part of a business they deal with to get them, but oh i miss them...We only paid $800 a year and every spring got a $100 or more 'rebate' from them.

Rates are really something that is so individual...it really depends on your specific situation but we have State Farm. I used to work for the agent that we have and we love her, she's the best.

We use USAA and LOVE them. However, it is only for military members and their families. My parents use State Farm, always have, and are very happy with them.
