Oh my gosh! Thank you all SO much for telling us to shop around. We talked to a lot of people today.. and got a GREAT rate with Texas Lending! They even told us its against the law now for the builder/builders lender to take away incentives for not going through their lender! YAY! We didnt think we would be able to have the payment we wanted if we escrowed the taxes.. but we were wrong! We will have a 30 year fixed and our payment (with taxes included) is right where we want it!!! We're in the process of closing.. and my dh's attitude and stress level seem SO MUCH BETTER! I think I might NOT have to murder him afterall!!!!!!

I'm so glad you got a good rate, Ember. 30-year fixed is WAY, WAY, WAY better than getting a subprime loan with an ARM or something like that.
