I saw this online and thought you might enjoy.

Retirement Quiz

I told my 8 year old that his teacher was retiring at the end of the year. I asked him if he knew what that meant. "Sure", he said, "It's like when you take off old tires on a car and put on new ones. She's going to re-tire her life and have a whole new start."

I am clueless about retirement. And I need to take the steps to correct that. That was one of the many reasons my husband switched jobs recently -- there were no retirement benefits.

My hubby and I didn't do well on that quiz. We are planning for retirement and have been saving for over 8 years already, but I had no idea what most of the answers were. Between the two of us we got 70% (I think it was more out of pure LUCK that we got that score!)

I got at 52. Very pitiful considering I used to work for an annuity board and I just recently read an article on Roth IRAs.
