My neighborhood kids are always selling something! And not for school. Ive had a couple of boys come knockin asking if I had anything that needed to be done around the house? Mowing? Dog walking? Babysitting? LOL

Then just now... two girls..probably about 10 and 13 years old selling homemade cookies! 1 for $.30 and 4 for $1! SCORE!!! They were good too!!! What a good way to make money. The girls on the corner (probably the same girls) always have a car wash going on. With a sign and everything. The 6 year old across the street has a lemonade stand.

Who needs the store when I have the neighborhood kids?

That is so cute! I did stuff like that too when I was little. I would pick my grandma's flowers, then try to sell them to her for a quarter! LOL

My kids have done lemonade stands. They donated the money to a girl who was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street.
Now they are ready to make the money for themselves.

That's great! I love to see that kinds of thing!
My kids had a lemonade stand and sold bottled water also at our yard sale. They can't wait to do it again!

I LOVE the fact that the kids were outside AND doing something constructive or fun!! Too many kids prefer to stay inside these days and parents make it to easy by providing every reason not to go out!

Stands are great, but I would be irritated if they came knocking at my door.

I just found this post, i love it! Reminds me of my kids.
Back in the summer of 2005 they had a snowcone stand. They sold snowcones out of our garage for 50 cents each, their first weekend they made $60. They were 10, 8, 6 & 5
In the summer of 2006 they had a lemonade stand. Sold ice-cold pickles, kool-aid & bottled water. They used my old camping table, a colorful beach towel & a pop-up canopy.
This year my oldest 2 (12 yo & 10 yo) started mowing lawns. They only do 2 of our neighbors, and split the money 4 ways.
My husband & i give them 'start-up' money. Every summer they present us with their 'list' of possible jobs, how much they'll need for each job. I love it!
Not much, but it's teaching them that they have to work for their money. I used to take them doing my door-to-door sales (i'm not sure i can mention the co. here!), but they tired of all the walking in the texas heat!
