I just found this post, i love it! Reminds me of my kids.
Back in the summer of 2005 they had a snowcone stand. They sold snowcones out of our garage for 50 cents each, their first weekend they made $60. They were 10, 8, 6 & 5
In the summer of 2006 they had a lemonade stand. Sold ice-cold pickles, kool-aid & bottled water. They used my old camping table, a colorful beach towel & a pop-up canopy.
This year my oldest 2 (12 yo & 10 yo) started mowing lawns. They only do 2 of our neighbors, and split the money 4 ways.
My husband & i give them 'start-up' money. Every summer they present us with their 'list' of possible jobs, how much they'll need for each job. I love it!
Not much, but it's teaching them that they have to work for their money. I used to take them doing my door-to-door sales (i'm not sure i can mention the co. here!), but they tired of all the walking in the texas heat!
