Yes I have. I don't think my (our) lifestyle has changed that drastically, except that we don't stress over how something is going to get paid. I still watch for sales, I don't buy things if I don't need them. And NO I do not feel rich. I feel VERY rich because of the non-materialistic things in my life but NOT the materialistic ones.
Both my husband and I were married once before and both of us "struggled" with finances in our first marriages. DH has been promoted several times since we have been together and we always make sure that things are paid for at the end of the month, as well as building up our savings. The only "debt" that we have is our house, and that is over 50% paid for. Some people consider that debt and some don't.
I have said before though....part of being "comfortable" is looking for deals, why spend money if you don't have to??
We are VERY fortunate to be where we are at. And we do NOT take anything for granted.
Edit: I should also say that both of us are on the same page, DH gets upset when the power bill is high, and gets on everyone's case about turning lights off, etc... We both try to instill "be smart with your money even if you can't see it" attitude with the kids.
