Yep- Dh left a great job when he decided to join the military. For some, that may not be considered a "better" job, but it has been for us. Sure, he's gone way more than he was previously, but when he is home, he is home and not worrying or dreading going into work the next day. He loves what he does and is proud of his job so it has been well worth it. And, every year he earns more money so we are just about back to where he was preiously in terms of income.

yep, I changed jobs 2yrs ago. I was working for a real estate off as Admin Asst and making pretty good money and went to working for a major airlines that was starting up a new program for Work At Home Reservation Reps. I walked in on a Friday and quit and have never looked back. I took a huge paycut, and stressed on how we were going to make it. We were the type that always said that we had to both work full time no questions. But it all turned out okay. I am now working part time and loving it. I am at home all day with my daughter, I don't have to use hardley any gas, no work clothes, no eating out for lunch.... I love it. Now I do pick up hrs but it is all up to me when and how long I want to work. I pick up odd hrs, an hr here, 2 there. Its nice...
we get raises every 6 months and a little bonus every quarter.

Yes! My dh use to be an asst manager in fast food. He was on salary and was working 90+ hours/week, with no overtime pay. We finally decided that the only way to save our marriage, and his relationship with our children was for him to change jobs, with a pay cut.. but a substantial reduction in hours. Yes this was very difficult.. but so completely worth it!
