Once your kids are in school? That's our plan right now. Having kids back to back is what we wanted that way they can go to school about the same time. I can work and put more in our retirement account..

Well, right now the plan is for me to go back to work once the youngest is in school fulltime. My dh wants me to go f/t but- we have a problem with no one being able to watch the youngest with days off school and summertime. My oldest child is 11- but not trustworthy of watching my youngest- she can fend for herself but is irresponsible when it comes to certain things. So my plan is to work at the school in the cafeteria for a couple years (possibly go to school during that time as well) and then get a f/t job.

Right now I plan to homeschool my son, and any future children we may have.... But later in life I may go back to work... As of now though nope, cause I watch 3 other kids during the day, and I clean three houses a week. With the money I make from them, I stick it into our mutual funds.. Which is what our retirement money will be 30 years from now

We haven't decided that yet. I would like to go to nursing school (I already have my AA, so I could cut that time in half!). We'll see if I am able!! About the time my youngest will go to big girl school, my older ones will be in college themselves...and the oldest one may be giving me grandbabies to watch and love!!

Right now our plan is if it becomes necessary for me to go back to work, it would only be part time. I will be home at least until my youngest (now 21 months) is through Kindergarten. Then while she's at school, I will volunteer at the school and get my self into a position to be hired as an aide. That way I only work when my kids are in school, we have the same days off for vacations and Summer and I would be home with them after school. I wouldn't make too much money, but I would never have to pay for child care and it would be enough for us to save more than we are able to now. DH and I feel that it is important for me to be home with the kids when they are. This is what my mom did and we know what went on with kids who's moms weren't home after school. Kids need more supervision at 13 than at 3 I think. This answer for us gives the best of both worlds.

I've always heard that just as soon as you think your job as a SAHM is over because you have all your kids in school, it's really just begun. I agree with mom23 that kids do need more supervision at 13 than 3.

My husband plans on me going back to work, but I've been telling him I'd like to continue staying home! Maybe find a part time job or something. So we'll see...

My mom worked and my younger sister & I were home alone. Luckily we lived out in the country where we pretty much had no choice but to hang out at home. My husband, on the other hand, had his mom waiting at home for him & his younger sister till he was a sophmore in high school! She then had to go back for finanacial purposes, but up until then she would be home waiting with milk & cookies everyday! That's my dream!!

Yes, I've been going to school to prepare to be able to get a job once the kids are both in school. My plan is a little off though, because my youngest is starting kindergarten this fall and I'm still in school, but that's ok. I will see what I can get once I'm looking for a job, whether it's full time or part time.

I don't know. We have some time to decide though. We always were against it but now that we have our own kids we're discussing home schooling! I think by then, crossing my fingers, if I did decide to go back to work it would be on my own terms and only for something that I completely enjoy! Or perhaps start my own business. We'll have to see!

I am on the 19 year plan which means after my little one is born in July I can stay home for 19 years....or until she gets through her first year of college. We want a parent at home to be able to support and supervise our kids.

I may choose to do some flexible merchandising during school hours but will not work when our children are out of school. I can't think of many jobs in this day and age that would allow you to work only 8-2, no other times or no weekends.

I am considering going back to full time when the girls go to school. I work part time now and love it. Although I want to be there for them if they need me during the day, so we'll have to see where were at moneywise.
