We were young and thought everybody lived paycheck to paycheck. That's all you ever heard others complain about - money! So, we were up to our eyeballs in debt when I found out I was pregnant with DS#1. Two days after I notified my employer I was pregnant, I was relieved of employment! I was terrified. We lost my medical insurance, including maternity, and my income. I was making more than DH at the time. I was a research chemist, and there was no demand for a pregnant chemist in our area. So, we buckled down, read a lot of financial books and realized there was another way. It was a hard couple of years, but we made it and are smarter for it! I thought losing my job was the worst thing that could have happened to me, but it turned out to be the biggest blessing! We found our financial footing, and I became a SAHM!
