*May be in wrong spot please move if needed **

Allgirls post in another thread got me wondering... Does your church charge for VBS? I was surprised to read she had a fee to pay for her kids to attend. All of the churches around here offer it for free ~ I guess I just thought that was the norm.

My church doesn't have Vbs (very small) but there is one offered in a church thats fairly close to home that I was thinking of sending the boys to in August. It is only $25.00 for a week from 9-2 I assume this offsets the costs for supplies and such.

No our church doesn't charge for VBS but if they wanted a t-shirt they paid $6. We have a big church so they probably had enough money for them not to charge. Maybe smaller churches that don't have enough money in their budgets may have to charge some. I don't know-this is a new one for me.

I've never heard of any churches in our area charging for VBS. I have seen ads from the bigger city newspapers that charged a fee though.

Last year for the first time, our church charged $10 for non members. It was just that alot of kids from the community were coming (which is great!) but our church is small and struggeling financially and it just cost too much money.

Ours doesn't charge either. But if they did, we probably would've paid it. The kids have so much fun.

our church we pay 10 or 15$ I never have to pay since I teach!! I think most churches around here you do have to pay a small fee!! they have so many supplies and it gets costly!!

There is a church by us that does it for free but then they collect money for a good cause. Another one asks for a $5.00 donation. Our church is $40.00, which I think is a bit high but it includes a t-shirt and lots of cool craft things.

All of the churches in our area offer VBS for free. One church offers a day camp in addition to VBS and they do charge a fee for that.

Ours doesn't charge for the kids to go but they do give the congregation an opportunity to "Sponsor a Kid" for $20 to help offset the cost.
