I used one of my daughters teachers that had decided to stay home with her children to tutor her and we paid our local county has a flat fee of $30/hr. For us it was such a big savings instead of using Sylvan or Huntington Learning Centers that are our local franchises for school tutoring. I also found that is was great for a teacher with experience in the local school system was helping her because they could help gives tips on how to prepare for the types of tests she would have as well as the ciriculum she was learning. My daughter went from C's to A's and has been honor roll ever since! That was 3rd grade and now she's going into 10th!
That money was some of the best money I've ever spent and was so grateful for her help!

You and the other teacher could go to the principal and petition a new position... The other idea about tutoring is a good one, too. Again, I'm not sure of your dempgraphic area, but in some places, tutors, particularly teachers, make really good $$. Hope you can figure this out so that you're all happy.
