I know it is free if you get the giftcards, but if you want to get cash from your change, what is the charge?

I too thought they did this but not in my area, I didnt realize we had such ancient banks around here! We took over 250.00 in and she gave us lots of rolls. We got it done and took it back. However no matter what coinstar charges I would not do it. The bank gives the money rolls away to customers for free. Yes it is time consuming but at least they don't take a percentage!

It's 8.9% "processing fee" if you don't get a gift card. We don't use the machines, but Dh took two big trays of coins there that we inherited from my great aunt's estate and I was glad to see that we could do gift cards for free! I hate paying the fee!

Yeah we had just the opposite happen we wraped up all our coins and the gal at the bank just unwrapped them and fed them through the machine so you can always call and ask how your bank handles coins

Many banks wont take coins anymore. I did coinstar a few years ago, and the fee was around 8-point-something percent.

My bank also has the coinstar machine- thank goodness! They never really gave out coin rolls though- since they would have to count them right away. I do think that it is .08.9% though!

I took the coins to Kroger and use the Coinstar machine, would have to pay 8.9% to use it for the cash back. If you have Kroger in your hometown and check it out.
