I have found that companies such as cable and phone don't want to loose your business, so I would just call and tell them what happened and I bet they will refund your money. If they tell you they can't, i would even go as far as telling them you will cancel, this will probably make them change their mind. Good luck, and try not to worry we have all made mistakes when it comes to paying bills.

on the bright side if they dont refund, its one less bill you have to worry about until the credit runs out

*hugs* im sorry you are going through so much right now, and its easy to make mistakes when you are under alot of stress.

I called Cable and they will call me back on Monday, when this goes to their payment resolution desk. The customer service rep said they would be able to refund the money...thank you, God!!!! Our electric rates went up again in July (CT has the highest electric rates in the continental US due to a rate hike last December). We've had to run AC non-stop this summer because the baby has a congenital defect of his airway and has such difficulty breathing. AC is the only thing that makes it tolerable for him, the poor little soul. So - I'm sure we're going to need the refund from cable to pay the electric. Sigh.

Anyway - thanks for all of your support.
