A friend of mine is looking into buying a chocolate cell phone. I asked how much and she said around $400. YIKES call me cheap but I wouldn't pay $400 for a cell phone. She is looking into getting one on ebay for $300 still too much for me. When did they get so expensive?

I did pay $50 for my phone because I wanted the camera in it but I don't think I'd pay much more than that.

What did you or would you be willing to pay for a cell phone?

We paid $100 for two phones, car chargers, bluetooth earpieces, and covers when we renewed our contract. DH is hard on phones, and we had to buy one for $250 before we were able to renew and get the "promotional price". Now we have backup phone should he kill this one. No more $250 phones for us.

I'm with you on that. I can't justify spending more on a phone that I do on a month of groceries and car insurance payments combined. But that's just me. I go into sticker shock over a lot of things!!! My cell phone (pretty basic phone) was a gift from my dad and I am on a top up plan and I only add $20 every 90 days. But if it is something she really wants and feels its worth it then she should go for it.

Well when the razor first came out I bought one then and spent a couple hundred. Was it the best purchase? Probably not but I had always wanted a nice phone and was so sick of being cheap all the time. So I bought it and have loved it. I've had the very same one since then, a couple years now and haven't regretted it.

I liked the fact that it was so thin because I could put it in my back pocket or my small purses so to me it was worth it. But I won't likely spend that much again.

I will admit I was tempted by the Pink Razor, I think it was, but I didn't buy it pretty much because it's supposed to get bad reception in our area. But I also couldn't see paying that much either. I actually would go with the free phone but needed one step up for reception purposes in our area. My current phone has a camera but that was because pretty much they all do at this point -it's not something I would pay extra for. The only extra feature that I looked for is that it folds up -- I like the fold up ones.

But yes I was tempted by that pink one!

The chocolate and pink razor can be had for a LOT less ($49, when I checked, and $25 on another) through major providers w/their contracts. Alltel is who I use. She really needs to shop around. Just avoid Inphonic - they promise the moon, but they are a scam.

I won't buy the iphone for the same reason - why spend that much? And you know it will be improved on and come WAY down in price.

I got a chocolate for mother's day for $49, I could have gotten the razor for free, but liked the chocolate better. I think she must just be a horrible shopper, I don't even think retail for these was that much!
