I saw a commercial this morning and it reminded me of something I had read. now I can't remember what or how to do it.

I have some toaster oven pans that have major cakedon gunk. I remember reading about an easy way to get rid of it without major scrubbing or anything like that. I also have a couple of cookie sheets the same way just not as bad.

Any suggestions on how to get this cr*p off my pans?????

I use Barkeepers Friend, it takes everything off with a little scrub.

I would try a baking soda/warm water paste. Just make a paste, rub it in, and leave it for a while. Then rinse off... caked on gunk should come right off.

try a cup of amonia in a black trash bag seal it up and put them outside in the sun for a few hours.. becareful when you open the bag(i do it outside) then i rinse with the garden hose before i bring in gunk comes right off... oven cleaner would probably work as well...

I do the same thing, except I lay paper towels over the racks in the plastic bag, and then saturate the paper towels with ammonia. Got the idea from "Talking Dirty with the Queen of Clean" book by Linda Cobb.

I read that you can clean your oven racks easily by tossing them out on your lawn at night - the morning dew loosens the grime and you can just wipe off the ick. I think you're talking about pans though - like cookie sheet type ones, right? Have you let them soak in HOT (boiling) soapy water to soften the gunk?
