For brand name items I always make more selling them on ebay. The consignment shop does not charge enough even with a large percentage for the consignor. I have found that I can list certain times of the month and if the auction ends right around peoples pay days I sell a lot more. Sometime I relist it and get a bid immediately. Plus Ebay refunds the fee if you sell something you relisted.

From my experience on EBAY, if you sell a certain size of clothing in a LOT you have a better chance of selling clothes. Selling them as single items or sets just is too "hit and miss" for me.

Our consignment shop pays 50%. I can live with that! It is easier than setting up a rummage sale!

Hi There,
I have had some luck in the consignment area. I've made about $170.00 so far, without having to do much work. From the beginning, I've always purchased used clothes for the kids and have "rule" of not spending more than $5.00 on one item. So far this has been working out pretty well, but as DD has been growing, it's getting a little bit harder, especially in the jeans department. Most of the time, I end up giving the clothes away, either to my friend with a little one or to Goodwill. I find that both of these pay me better in the good feelings I get than any consingment store can. Just a thought.
